Hitogata
Hitogata was commissioned by the Solem Quartet as part of their Beethoven Bartok Now series. The musical material is controlled by the movements of four dances whose individual gestures and convolutions are performed extremely slowly, creating an expansive sense of time and space.
Transfigured Night
The concert program was designed by cellist Matthew Barley – integrating string music with five electronic compositions written by Jasmine Morris, choreographed by Joshua Junker of the Royal Ballet, danced by the Ching-Ying Chien. Through this theatrical presentation the audience will be led into a different state of mind, deeply meditative, while different members of the Mullova Ensemble play solos, duos and quartets in a seamless journey.
